I'm Up To Here With That Stink!

For the past 4 years the fouls smelling wagons travelling along the A520 through Meir & Weston Coyney (Stoke on Trent) have been getting progressivley smellier!

I, and the community I represent have had enough and are preparing a campaign to get this problem (smelly wagons transporting animal remains - sometimes dropping a few pigs trotters along the way) permanently resolved. It is our intention to approach DEFRA (the licensing authority) to pressurise them to get the licence conditions on this route changed. We want the animal remains transported in mechanically sealed containers - these dont smell, dont let offal drop out the back and dont make much noise. We are not opposed to the business of using these remains to make useful products, in fact we applaud such an endevour. But we do demand that if you are going to transport this material through our community that you do so with respect and due regard for the privacy of the residents.
