Meir Is The Most Patriotic Area Of Stoke on Trent
Anyone who lives in Meir (or who has driven through) will no doubt have spotted the mass of St George crosses hanging out of every window. As someone who gets around the city quite often I can testify that I have yet to see anywhere in Stoke on Trent that has more flags out than Meir.
I am as proud as can be with the people of Meir for this show of support for our national team. I believe also that this concious display of English National Pride is the peoples response to the very 'anti-patriotic' government under which we suffer. I wonder if our parents of previous generations would have thought it would have become a 'revolutionary' act to fly the English flag - in England!
Best Streets Blatchford (thanks Liz & Alan for letting me take the photo) Close and Laski Crescent, why not have a drive through and enjoy the show.
Stokies as Genuine as ever!
